About Strong Acid in Subnautica 2
Strong Acid is a mid-to-lategame crafted material that rarely shows up before players need it urgently. It's the output of Necrolei Cysts plus Salt — both obtainable, but the Necrolei encounter requirement means players often arrive at the Strong Acid recipe gate without any cysts banked. The material is used in the Processor blueprint and several advanced crafting chains.
How to Farm Strong Acid Efficiently
Don't wait until you need Strong Acid to start farming Necrolei Cysts. As soon as you have Depth Module Mk.1 and a Bioscanner, start building a cyst stockpile on incidental dives. Keep 6–10 cysts in storage so that when the Strong Acid gate hits, you can craft immediately rather than having to make a dedicated dangerous run.
Advanced Notes
Salt is trivially common — it's the Necrolei Cysts that constrain output. With a solid stockpile approach, Strong Acid crafting becomes non-blocking. Two cysts plus one salt per batch means your cyst reserve is the only constraint.
